The mission of musical director Rosel Lamoru is to showcase authentic Cuban traditional music from Santiago de Cuba. Thus he has brought together this team of legendary musicians.

Straight from Santiago’s renowned Casa de la Trova, these Grammy award winners have accompanied or played with members of the Buena Vista Social Club including Compay Segundo, Eliades Ochoa and Omar Portuondo.

For example,  Alejandro Almenares Sanchez is a founder of the Casa de la Trova.  He is described by Amazon as “perhaps the last of the Troubadours of the golden age of Trova in Cuba. As a composer he has written over several hundred songs including Mueve la cintura mulata used in the film Pecado Original starring Antonio Banderas” (and Angela Jolie).

Together with Eliades Ochoa, these two are described as “Dos Gigantes de la Musica Cubana”.

Watch for their 2020 tour!
